Where things stand today
At the time of writing, Loft Insulation Calc carries no affiliate links and no advertising. Nobody pays us to mention a product, a brand, a retailer or an installer.
How this may change
Running the site costs money, and we want to keep it free. To help cover those costs, some links may become affiliate links in future. These could include programmes such as Amazon Associates, or affiliate programmes run by DIY and building supplies retailers.
If and when we add affiliate links:
- if you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission from the seller;
- the commission comes at no extra cost to you: you pay the same price you would otherwise;
- we'll label affiliate links clearly, next to the link itself, so you know before you click; and
- we'll update this page and our privacy notice before any affiliate links go live.
What affiliate links will never change
- The calculations. U-values, depths, quantities and costs come from the published sources and formulas in our methodology. No retailer or manufacturer can change them, and a product's results don't depend on whether we earn anything from it.
- Which products appear. The calculator includes products because their manufacturers publish the data sheets we need, not because of any commercial relationship.
- Our advice. Safety notes, Building Regulations reminders and tips are written to help you do the job properly.
Disclosure statement
UK advertising rules expect marketing to be clearly identifiable, and we want you to know about any commercial connection between us and the products or shops we link to. Once the site carries affiliate links, this applies to them: when you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission, at no extra cost to you.
